Taking dance training from the studio to the stage; The value of exposing young dancers to a a variety of performance opportunities is an essential facet of their training and we are proud to offer three performing opportunities under one roof. The Sole Unique Dance Complex is the home of Soleunique Dance Company, the new SoleSquad Dance Team and The SoleSystem.

Each of the in-house performing companies will have a 10-month long season inclusive of building new repertoire to be performed at multiple levels of competition ranging from entry-level to pre-professional. The newest, The SoleSystem, is a shorter and condensed program housed in our Wheaton location which is catered towards local high school dance team dancers in their post-season.

The Soleunique Dance Company was established in 2004 by Anthony Foster and Victoria Bunch with a purpose to train and educate young dancers seeking sustainable careers in professional dance and the performing arts community. The company directors are supported by dance educators, choreographers, studios and conventions nation-wide for “not only teaching technique, but honesty and value”. Soleunique Dance Company has earned a reputation for their versatility, attention to technique and creativity as well as appropriate costume selection, choreography and their humble work ethic.

Active Soleunique family members range between the ages of 9 and 18 years of age and are provided with training criteria inclusive of ballet, contemporary/modern, hip hop, jazz tap and lyrical dance. The directors of the company strive to educate young dancers in a positive and healthy, non-competitive environment that fosters bright and imaginative young people striving to achieve their personal best in all aspects of their lives. The Sole Squad is an Intermediate-level performance and competitive dance team designed to elevate young dancers’ performance and technique. Our mission is to create a positive team atmosphere for dancers who wants to grow their dance skills, gain confidence, and be a part of something greater than themselves. We focus not only on the improvement of dance technique, but also on performance and how to communicate to an audience. We are, above all, a team striving to lift each other to be our best; both on the stage and off. We cater to 4 age groups:

  • Sole Squad Petites:  ages 7-8
  • Sole Squad Pre-Teens: ages 9-11
  • Sole Squad Teens: ages 12-14
  • Sole Squad Seniors: high school aged dancers

An affiliate of the Soleunique Dance Company and the SoleSquad Dance Team, the SoleSystem Dance Project is a spring-season competition company brought to you by the Sole Unique Dance Complex. The SoleSystem was established to provide an opportunity to high school dance team members to experience a condensed, studio competition company while continuing their growth shortly after their respective high school dance team season comes to an end. Dancers will train as individuals in classes offered by The Sole Unique Dance Complex in residence at Wheaton Sport Center. The physical season where choreography rehearsals and competitive events will take place in February and will continue through the end of May. Dancers will learn and rehearse competition routines at Wheaton Sport Center separate from their technique classes.

Each regional competition event will be in the greater Chicago land geographical area.

We aim to provide a unique and healthy atmosphere for dancers to acquire self-accountability skills, to push themselves, each other and continue to develop the best possible versions of themselves. Our goal is to guide members to learn from one another, lift each other up and take that energy into every performance and event in which we attend.
