
Introducing the new branch of Soleunique Dance Company beginning in the winter of 2024. This division offers an opportunity for High School Dance Team members from a variety of local schools to extend their performance season while also expanding their dance education. Members of the HS division will participate in a 4.5 month season beginning with tryouts in January and ending with a final performance event in June. A summary of the guidelines are below and members of the Dance Team Division are regarded as members of the Soleunique Dance Company.
Who is eligible to try out?
Dancers currently maintaining membership of their respective high school dance team and are transitioning to the off-season are eligible to audition for us in January at the conclusion of their schools’ performing/competition season. This opportunity is not affiliated with one specific school and is open to dancers from all local high schools.
Class Training Requirements
A minimum of 3x training classes are required alongside weekly rehearsals. One ballet class, one jazz technique class and one other supplemental technique class or one that coincides with a style that you’ll be competing; such as hip hop or contemporary. Most requirement can be fulfilled in non-recital classes with the exception of hip hop and contemporary.

- Tuesday: Evening rehearsals
- Wednesday: 4:30 Ballet Int./Adv. (NR)
- Wednesday: 6:15 Hip Hop Adv.
- Wednesday: 7:15 Contemporary Adv.
- Thursday: 6:30 Ballet Adv.
- Thursday: 7:30 Jazz Tech Adv. (NR)
- Thursday: 8:30 Jazz Moves Adv.
Choreography
This division will learn and perform/compete a maximum of 3 group routines. Styles are inclusive of jazz, hip hop and and contemporary. Solos, duets and trios are reserved for the full dance company and members of the High School Division are ineligible.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals for group dances will be held at Soleunique Dance Complex on Tuesday evenings and or Saturday afternoons.
