SoleSquad Dance Team

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to audition for SoleSquad?

Yes! We have two to choose from for the 2019-2020 season. You only need to attend one. They are June 15th and August 10th. Please fill out a SoleSquad audition form to register, or if you have questions, you can reach us through this SoleSquad inquiry.

When/Where are auditions?

June 15th and August 10th, 2019 at the SoleUnique Dance Complex. 1050 Corporate Blvd. Suite D in Aurora, IL. Both days the times will be:

Petites (7-8yrs) 9-9:45am

Preteens and Teen (9-14yrs) 9:45-11am

Seniors (high schoolers) 11am-12pm

What do I wear?

Anything that you would wear to a jazz technique class. A leotard, tank top, or tight fitting tee, and leggings/dance shorts are perfect, with hair secured back in a pony tail or bun. Please bring jazz shoes and if you don’t have them (or they are too small) ballet shoes will be great.

Do I need to prepare anything for auditions/What do I expect to do?

No preparation needed, just show up and be ready to boogie. We will run the audition like a jazz technique class. There will be a warm up, movement and progressions across the floor to see technique, then a combo taught in center to see how quickly dancers can learn and retain choreography.

If I can't make auditions, what do I do?

Contact us! Although it is not guaranteed, we can sometimes schedule a different time to audition you.

How and when will I know if I made the team?

We will send out an email within one week of the audition.

If I am accepted, what is the deadline to make my commitment to SoleSquad?

We will have a Commitment meeting in mid-to-late August before the start of classes. We ask for the signed Handbook at that time.
